On March 30th, I got to see Razzle the raven and Bullit the red tail hawk. These beautiful #birds have sustained injuries which won’t allow them to survive in the wild. Thus they are ambassadors for Wildcare Eastern Sierra. This group does so much to rehabilitate wildlife here!

Doctor prescribed rest & self care to me. But I oscillate between the stresses of my lay off, health insurance, of packing, and the news. Ugh the news! I’m on a news diet just to not overwhelm myself but every time it’s just 🫠 I should join my cats in a blanket fort…..

Great……La Migra (ICE) is in Merced CA right now. They are driving in vehicles labeled Dept of Homeland Security. So many Dreamers and hard working migrants are now being scared. I remember growing up and seeing ICE rip people away from their families arms…a memory burned into my mind

I should have avoided the internet today but I didn’t. Now I’m fighting off that migraine again…..just keep cuddling with my cat and keep breathing. Glad my orange girl 🐈 is totally up for it! I think this #sarahandersen comic is perfect.

Just saw the moss landing fire alert, and I just want to shove my head under sand or the covers. The first time I ever kayaked was at elk horn slough, and I got to see sea otter pups and adults holding hands. I hope it survives the fire and toxic fumes in the air. All the people in the area 😔

People should not be flying drones while firefighters are battling the fires!!!! This is crazy! One less super scooper means less water to fight the fires in LA. I can’t believe one is now grounded because of idiocy 🤬

On Sat, we stopped by campus to see if my partner could capture photos of the kingfisher 🪶….sure enough it was not there. Every time he brings his fancy camera, he never sees it. I saw it everyday! Oh well, the struggle continues. I just enjoy seeing them. This was my Friday photo #usbirds

On Sat, we stopped by campus to see if my partner could capture photos of the kingfisher 🪶….sure enough it was not there. Every time he brings his fancy camera, he never sees it. I saw it everyday! Oh well, the struggle continues. I just enjoy seeing them. This was my Friday photo #usbirds
Coming to campus for work on the holidays means it’s quiet. The birds are out and I managed to snag this shot unexpectedly! My partner has been trying to catch a photo of a kingfisher on campus for months. I have been seeing them every time I come by campus during break.

Obligatory text of “earthquake!” Reno earthquake felt in Merced. The cool thing was that I noticed my cat jump into our bathroom cabinet with the towels 😂 only for my partner to yell that he got a text about a 3.0M earthquake. 5 sec later we felt the building move and heard it creak

This is the 2nd time I caught COVID but 1st time w/ bad brain fog. I oscillate between insomnia and fatigue. I’m lucky for the vaccine and paxlovid! Any tips on dealing with fatigue and brain fog? Lots of folks from OSU and LBL reached out to ask if I was going to AGU, sadly it didn’t work out.

I didn’t even travel for Thanksgiving and I stayed home with my partner and the kitties. On Saturday I thought I caught a mild cold…but the sinus headache was annoying. Then on Sunday I felt a little crummy, just to be cautious I tested myself for COVID with the home antigen test….it was + 🤬🤦🏻♀️

Got the Flu. Christmas AM, my fever and body aches got worse. Next AM, my bronchial tubes were inflamed and I had to use my inhaler multiple times. If I didn’t have access to telemedicine I wouldn’t have gotten the antiviral in time. A second day would have definitely ended in worse 1/n
