On March 30th, I got to see Razzle the raven and Bullit the red tail hawk. These beautiful #birds have sustained injuries which won’t allow them to survive in the wild. Thus they are ambassadors for Wildcare Eastern Sierra. This group does so much to rehabilitate wildlife here!

Although she sustained an injury on her left wing she still stands close to two feet tall from head to tail feathers. The picture shows Bullit, a 14 year old Red tailed hawk. Her left wing lays limp due to an injury. The limp wing still showcases her beautiful feathers with a gradient of brown to light brown. Her flight feathers have striped colorations of dark brown and grey. Her head and her tail feathers are a reddish brown color. She is comfortably perched on a volunteer’s gloved hand. A front view of Bullit the red tailed hawk as she is perched on a volunteer’s gloved hand. Bullit has a sharp beak surrounded dark feathers that shift to reddish brown and light brown colors. Her left wing lays limp due to an injury. Her black claws are at least an inch long.

I should have avoided the internet today but I didn’t. Now I’m fighting off that migraine again…..just keep cuddling with my cat and keep breathing. Glad my orange girl 🐈 is totally up for it! I think this #sarahandersen comic is perfect.

On Sat, we stopped by campus to see if my partner could capture photos of the kingfisher 🪶….sure enough it was not there. Every time he brings his fancy camera, he never sees it. I saw it everyday! Oh well, the struggle continues. I just enjoy seeing them. This was my Friday photo #usbirds

Walking on campus during break brings quiet moments. We really are lucky to have so many #birds that make it their home. I always see the ducks and the great egret on campus. The snowy egret few off sadly before I could capture it 🪶 #usbirds

Coming to campus for work on the holidays means it’s quiet. The birds are out and I managed to snag this shot unexpectedly! My partner has been trying to catch a photo of a kingfisher on campus for months. I have been seeing them every time I come by campus during break.
Two birds on tree branches. At the. Top is a large long neck white bird called a giant egret. At the lower branches is much smaller blue bird with a dark beak and white chest accented with a blue band of feathers across its chest. This is a kingfisher.

Sometimes my anxiety overwhelms me so much I zone out. Looking at the news seems to make it worse. When I am at home, this furball head butts my phone or lays on top of me. I wish I could bring her to work…
