Transmission continues to be the missing link to the clean energy transition. Even with legislated CIS, Aust needs this critical infrastructure so we can connect new replacement generation as our ageing & unreliable coal exits in the next decade.

Thank you @stephaniebashir.bsky.social Now all we need before the next election is about two hundred more informed opinion pieces like this in the Aus to counteract the misinformation that dominates social media comments every time MSM covers a renewable energy story.

This is unequivocally about politics, not policy. The Coalition’s $331 billion nuclear fantasy is a coal- and gas-keeper energy transition plan for Australia, funded by taxpayers. @thesaturdaypaper.com.au

The Coalition’s coal-keeper plan
The Coalition’s nuclear proposal offers no outlook for lower household bills, and the political debate obscures the fact that the plan is undeliverable.

Gas lobby hoorays South Australia capacity payment plan as clean energy industry fears backward step

Europe is projected to achieve the milestone of one million public EV chargers in early 2025.

This year France added the most public chargers.

But the country with most public chargers is the Netherlands.

Yes heat pumps can work in flats.

And in this case also very old historic flats.

Don’t believe the naysayers.

Waking up to the smells of bushfire smoke yesterday was a disturbing reminder of the summers of 2020 and 2009.

It’s only November and the fires have started.

My heart is with the communities in the Wimmera and our thanks go out to all the emergency service responders for your courageous work.

A key factor that determines heat pump adoption is the ratio of electricity to gas prices.

The lower that ratio the more heat pumps get installed.

A steep rise:

@iea.bsky.social forecasts that by 2030 46% of global electricity generation will be from renewables with wind and solar PV together making up 30%.

By 2030 solar becomes the largest renewable electricity source, followed by wind, both surpassing hydropower.
