Shout out to @discord.com for adding custom color themes. It's not perfect, but sharing my specs for my OG Steam colorway:

There's a lot to study from Zohran Mamdani's electoral victory, but I'm particularly interested in its graphic design. Vivid, unexpected colors. A hand drawn feel that nods to the grassroots nature of the campaign, with nods to old NYC bodega signage, metro cards, and even old Bollywood posters.

I took yesterday off from work to "celebrate" GAAD. I do digital accessibility work every day. I'm exhausted and needed rest.

The event felt even more performative this year, in light of the latest round of senseless Microsoft layoffs disproportionately affecting accessibility practitioners.

I’m not sure we need earnest explanations of why ASL interpreters are necessary so much as we need a resounding “fuck you, you socially unacceptable little piece of shit” to anyone questioning or mocking them

It might seem trivial in this weighty & vexed time, but I do feel the need to comment on the Pantone 2025 Color of the Year: Mocha Mousse. www.pantone.com/color-of-the-year/2025

Mocha is a port city on Yemen's Red Sea coast that sat at the center of maritime trade networks in the 17th & 18th C.

“I’m keeping Twitter and using Bluesky too”

Hear me out, the longer you stay on that platform the longer you amplify its power.

Do not half use Bluesky hoping it will magically be like the Twitter you spent years cultivating.

Invest in the change and cultivate here. You have a new garden!

Anyone know what the vibe is like for Black folks in #Rochester, NY (community, safety, etc)? Asking on behalf of a #Blacksky community member looking to move there soon.

I've got people in NYC, Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo but not that part of the state. Reply or DM me (always open)
