To mark one year of Luxon’s coalition Government, we've updated the catalogue of its most egregious attacks on nature.

It's sombre reading, but it's important because keeping a record helps us resist and will help us undo it properly in the future.

We’ve had possibly our busiest morning ever on the Wellington rail network for the Hīkoi, with 40,000 people through the railway station. Crowd likely at least 50,000, probably more. If you’re heading out of town by train today, make a plan now because trains will only be running until 8:30pm.

We need to pace ourselves. It's only been a week. Alert fatigue is dangerous

After Paul Goldsmith's speech today I think we, as an industry, need to rethink the welcome we give him at arts events. We let him pretend these are apolitical. Nothing is apolitical at this moment and in this time and after that speech.

Have made it to 4pm of the first day of the holidays with no bloodshed. Feel like I should send them back to school immediately so I can claim it as a win. Because it is NOT going to last.

One thing I will say is that a new social media platform by itself is not enough to break from the underlying problems that made Twitter Like That.

Those problems are bigger than social media and bigger than algorithms.

In theory, I live here now. In practice? I’ll likely be as infrequent as I am anywhere else. But in the interim? Have an excellently spotty horse.
