Words & music by Bob Dylan

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now will later be fast
As the present now will later be past
The order is rapidly fading
And that first one now
Will later be last

For the times they are a-changin'

Words & music by Bob Dylan

Relationships of ownership, they whisper in the wings
To those condemned to act accordingly and wait for succeeding kings
And I try to harmonize with songs, the lonesome sparrow sings

There are no kings inside the Gates of Eden

Too soon? This was released in 1968!

Concentration Moon
Over the camp in the valley
Concentration Moon
Wish I was back in the alley (...)

American way
How did it start?
Thousands of creeps
Killed in a park

American way
Try and explain
Scare of a nation
driven insane

50 YEARS AGO TODAY, JULY 22, 1975:
The "on-sale date" of the first comic I ever bought, at the age of 15 years old.

h/t @kurtbusiek.bsky.social—who was there.

(and yes, it says October on the cover; that was a thing they did in those days, presumably to extend shelf life.)

Black Sabbath 'War Pigs"

Generals gather in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds plot destruction
Sorcerer of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds

Oh Lord yeah

In 1988, GDW's Space 1889 TTRPG took players to space, steampunk style in the Victorian Age, inspired by the imaginations of authors like H.G. Wells and Jules Verne.

It also had a CRPG adaptation in 1990 by Paragon Software as players race against German rivals to find the tomb of King Tut!

A few words from Frank Zappa

"It can't happen here
It can't happen here
I'm telling you my dear
That it can't happen here
Because I've been checking it out, yeah
Been checking it out a couple of times
Oh darling it's important that you believe me
That it can't happen here

Who could imagine!"

Just listenin' to 'Sin City' by the Flying Burrito Brothers. Don't you find it weird and sad that songs written 60 or 50 years ago sounded not only true back then, but even truer now?

As Stephen Stills once said:

There something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
