Will S38 survive splashdown tomorrow, when it flies?
October 12, 2025 at 10:52 PM
S38 is moving out right now for the final stack of this Starship version and on this launch mount.
Here is a slightly older clip showing some of the stacking operation in StarbaseSim while the booster is already fully loaded with propellant for some reason:

The new update with the overhauled launch mount is live now!
Finally, after three years! In the clip below you can see how it looked like back then. Quite some progress! :)

and now to the most important feature! 😄

This is a short clip from the video that's going to premier in about 5 hours from now. After the premier, the update with @RyanHansenSpace's launch mount model will go live on Steam and Epic Games Store.

It's still looking good for a release of the OLM update tomorrow, 24 hours from now. I'll put up a premier again on YouTube for the final countdown, when it's ready.

Looks like we had a good final static fire of S38 earlier. Awesome!
While we won't see this anymore in real life, you can still re-create it any time in StarbaseSim in the next update with the full OLM, including vent!
Aiming to release it as soon as this Wednesday!

This is just an HTML page that is used as overlay in OBS. So you won't have it directly on your game window. But there should be a way to do that also.

Other interactive versions with more detailed info are also in the works. For example this one by new Builder Ker1010:

There it is! The first usable SpaceX stream like overlay using the new API.
Great work by Lyna on the discord! There you can also find out more about it in the new API/Decals section:

or get it here: github.com/KakushiTLG/S...

I might do a longer video about this next week.

Playing around a bit trying to recreate this.
The attitude controller is not the best here, so I had to make some manual input to keep it stable.

Linux version of latest update is up and should be working fine.
If you are waiting for Mac, check the pinned post in my profile.

Update goes live in about an hour from now. I will be in the premier chat and later hop into some games, if any are open.
August 25, 2025 at 6:01 PM
I have finished this update for release tomorrow (pending regulatory approval) after deciding to give the OLM more time. The time a @RyanHansenSpace model deserves.
See Devlog for more details: starbasesim.com/wordpress/20...

Good luck Ship 37!

Waiting for that final static fire of Ship 37.
August 13, 2025 at 8:44 AM
That was a pretty nice static fire, but S37 has to come back for a second round with a new RVac it looks like.
I have adjusted the plume generation in the latest dev version patch to make it a bit more realistic.
August 7, 2025 at 8:08 PM
S37 is on the way to the first ever ship static fire on Pad A!
Let's hope, it doesn't actually turn out like below if I post this ahead of time already 😆🤞
Good luck SpaceX!

Rocket data is sent through a TCP socket. You can use any program to read that and send back commands to the game.
That should allow for creating all kinds of things, like custom controllers or SpaceX stream like overlays or even fully custom external UI.

You can do some silly things with the new API system that will come with the next StarbaseSim update...
It's available on the dev version for testing now.
July 25, 2025 at 7:51 PM
There it is! Just added the latest ship static fire adapter model for Pad A to StarbaseSim now that they seem to be mostly finished with it.
This will soon be available on the dev version also... when I have finished an unrelated new feature.
Thanks to @chameleoncircuit.ca for model!

There will be only a small example set built-in initially. But people already started doing their own decals and then maybe I can add some of those to the defaults.
I have also been looking into proper modding support. But that will need to wait a little longer.
July 15, 2025 at 8:51 PM
Working on some smaller features for the next update, like customizable decals.
This is already available on the dev version.
