bringing back the out-of-fashion THOUGHT BUBBLE was a HUGE deal for us for this issue - many kudos to @joecaramagna.bsky.social for this one - resurrecting a comic "technology" like this and updating it visually (love the slight roseate Martha pink on them) is no small feat!!

reality warping and shapeshifting comes in handy

it's also comforting to know that at least (& at last) the editors agree their relationship matters most. it scares me how easy it can be taken away and how little some care as if it wasn't defining their characters and dominating all their most important stories

and that's good. it's beautiful and precious because I know there's no other like it, and it shatters your soul to know that it exists and is possible. I have to be protective because it is all we have. we have so little, but it is a little miracle
