I love glimmer, but she does suck. She’s supposed to suck, but also, damn, she sucks. Like not to blame it all on her but also, her and bow getting captured at prom was also basically her fault. Anyway, yeah no tbh adora is right they need to make Good plans and not just rely on vibes

Like honestly using that specific scenario as an example of something that went right is wild when that resulted in their enemies getting a genius inventor who gleefully creates superweapons for them. But glimmer does kinda suck so it tracks she wouldn’t consider that

She came out and looked at the puzzle for a couple seconds and turned right around and ate normally. She said work smarter not harder

Feel completely justified discounting ostrich & chriping bc it’s NOT AN ES SONG and was INCLUDED ON THE ALBUM ACCIDENTALLY. I can’t comprehend why they would still include it on a remaster
December 28, 2025 at 9:44 PM
(Also I say “nerd” as a kind of self-deprecating shorthand for “gifted and talented” which is itself a euphemism for “probably neurodivergent”)
December 28, 2025 at 10:13 AM
Hence my misfit among misfit status. I was a REAL nerd, who tested into it by being good at puzzles or whatever. Then they added in all the high achieving populars and decimated any social confidence I had left and made it so the class sizes were literally bigger than the normal classes
December 28, 2025 at 10:10 AM
2, 40+ people? isn’t the point of nerd classes to be smaller so gifted students get more attention? And you would think that. But my school ended up just kind of adding anyone with good grades to the nerd classes, which served to make the class sizes huge and irrevocably alter the social hierarchy
December 28, 2025 at 10:08 AM
You may be thinking: 1, why would you WANT to be on that list? That’s awful! And yes it was, and I was happy to not be included, but didn’t realize I was THAT far off the radar.
December 28, 2025 at 10:06 AM
But anyway yeah. In school I was placed in the nerd classes and within those nerd classes I was also very unpopular, so the “misfit among misfits” theme in Rudolph always really struck a chord with me.
December 28, 2025 at 10:03 AM
Everyone has their hot takes about Rudolph being capitalist propaganda or whatever bc they don’t remember what actually happens in it, but no one wants to talk about the fact that one of Santa’s elves drops a flightless bird to its death off the side of the sleigh at the end of the movie
December 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM
And the best Christmas stories, imo, are about someone for whom Christmas ISNT the best time of year and is expecting to be lonely or disappointed, but then a Christmas miracle makes it happy for them. And that’s the misfits all over!!! Except for the bird that gets murdered during the credits
December 28, 2025 at 9:58 AM
Then the ending where they go “the most wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL day of the year!” is the part that makes me cry sometimes LMAO it’s just so sad!! You get the sense that the more they repeat “wonderful” the worse they feel, because they aren’t part of any of it
December 28, 2025 at 9:56 AM
And then “and it’s all because of Santa Claus” reinforces the movie’s use of Santa as a proxy for the status quo. Santa is the reason for all the fun kids have on Christmas and he’s the reason they are left out of it all.
December 28, 2025 at 9:54 AM
And the line “toys galore, scattered on the floor, there’s no room for more, and it’s all because of Santa Claus” the double meaning there is SO CLEVER!!! Out of context it’s just a description of a joyous Christmas morning but for the misfit toys, “there’s no room for more” is about THEM
December 28, 2025 at 9:50 AM
I love the way it escalates, from the dreamy, kind of haunting intro to the main part where you get to see all the silly wonky toys to the sarcastically joyful ending that will honestly make me cry if I’m in the right mood for it
