You mean the company that's currently being struck by its workers and the company that's currently being boycotted because of its terrible DEI policy rollbacks? Why not just call this the Chocolate Mint Racist Scab Frostie?
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

Honestly, until like the 1970s or 1980s, people have held the attitude that adult men having sex with teenagers is "normal" and "biologically wired." They still believe it, they just learned to stop talking about it openly at some point.
Conservatives when it's a 15 year old in library; "These are children and I can't believe we are letting them read smut like Twilight!!!"

Conservatives when it's a 15 year old sex trafficking victim; "Looks, these people are practically legal. Barely legal even"

I am genuinely confused about why people think that the Epstein files will make a difference.

"...that there is such a thing as a “through” - that eventually, we’ll come out the other end. And I'm no longer quite so sure that is the case. Instead, I think we need to talk about the long haul. The wandering in the wilderness without a clear endpoint in sight."

It's kind of refreshing to have somebody come out and say it:

"... But that ain’t why “we” lost. It’s time for this country to reckon with the real reason America lost with one indisputable fact:
More people wanted Donald Trump as president."

Happy Easter.
Today is a great day to remember when a tyrannical ruler conspired with law enforcement agents & scholars to have a former refugee arrested for “blasphemy” during a campus protest

To be fair, he WAS affiliated with the “disciples”

It's almost like obeying in advance doesn't work, won't keep you safe, and only emboldens totalitarians to be worse!
The irony of Columbia being the first target after being at the vanguard against its own students and faculty exercising their right of free speech.

Shafik’s unnecessary and preemptive appeasement totally backfiring
The Trump administration is threatening to cut tens of millions of dollars in federal funding for Columbia University, making the school the first major target in its effort to root out what it considers antisemitic harassment on college campuses.

I have quite a lot of days where I don't buy anything, so this is not going to be too difficult. It seems worth a shot. And yes, it's nice to have a good visual.
I made this the other night while procrastinating, mainly because I thought all the posts about the blackout were boring. It feels like there is momentum bringing people together!

"You have to be the adult in the room now.
...
Which is scary as hell."

Umair goes long, I usually sort of skim through. But I generally agree with him.

(Being a camp counselor is a good way to work on being the adult in the room. That's how I learned it.)

Liking this book! I love @annaleen.bsky.social's fiction - but I don't read much nonfiction, and propaganda didn't sound interesting to me. But I'm very interested in stories, and maybe this helps me figure out why so many people are believing the wrong stories now. bookshop.org/p/books/stor...

Not a short article, but I really liked it. Rigid gender roles are bad for ALL of us, no matter how privileged you are.
How can we not be appreciative of gender-expansive people, who are breaking down barriers and making things better for everyone?
