Putting Kari lake at the head of Voice of America is not only an attack on journalism and the duty to tell the truth, it’s an assault and an insult to every person around the world who turns to VoA to look up to America.
Current director of Voice of America is (my friend) Michael Abramowitz. Decades as reporter, WH correspondent, and national editor at WaPo; executive at Holocaust Museum; years as head of Freedom House. Achievement in many realms. freedomhouse.org/expert/micha...

Trump's nominee is Kari Lake.

A quick glance at relevant sections of Title 22 of the U.S. Code makes me wonder whether a president of the United States, even one who is not illiterate and deranged, can appoint the director of the Voice of America. I’ll leave it to others to figure this out.

It's probably not a good day to remind people that Trump's son in law walked away from his White House gig with $2 billion from the Saudis.

I'll wait until you're finished being mad at Joe pardoning Hunter for being his son.

This is incredibly disturbing and goes against every rule of war, international law, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and the very ethic of the military. A disciplined military goes to every length to prevent civilian deaths and having a SecDef who doesn't care is unacceptable.

Of course I DO blame the Senate. Tossing Impeachment #2 on the basis that it was too late to remove Trump by then (since he was no longer in office by the time the Senate deigned to take it up) was always a BS move, cowardly and illogical as well as ahistorical and without basis in the Constitution

When the next pandemic hits—I worry that day isn't far off—we're screwed.

America did far and away the worst job of any country in the developed world of protecting its people from illness and death, and everyone in the incoming Trump administration who deals with health thinks we did.... too much.
Donald Trump’s nominees—including Jay Bhattacharya, Trump’s pick to run the National Institutes of Health—would like to change the systems and structures of the nation’s public health, Benjamin Mazer writes. But what unites them all is a lasting rage over COVID.

Pres Biden didn't get credit for 4yrs

Greatest economy in 5 decades, stock market at all time high, 4.1% unemployment & GDP at 2.2%

Then all we saw was clickbait bad news

Now all of a sudden, we have all this great economic news. Absolutely stunning how fast these bastards changed their tunes

A good time to point out that the Dept of Justice policy of not indicting sitting presidents is not in the Constitution anywhere. Search for those words and you will not find it. Nor obviously will you find any words saying former presidents are immune. It's all extra-constitutional.

The Mexican president says Mexico would likely respond to any of Trump's tariffs with tariffs of its own on US-made products. This trade war will benefit NEITHER country, which is why Trump would be extremely foolish to go down this path.
