Tiger Mask says he feels like he’s walking out of a blizzard into a warm room with a burning stove. That sounds like a relief, but he’s also walking into a press conference, so maybe it’s, “Out of the frying pan and into the fire?” Being autistic adds so many challenges to learning Japanese.

I know the dozen-if-I’m-lucky Americans reading this are waiting on tenterhooks for One Specific Event, but the United States will still have tens of millions of sociopaths for neighbors afterwards. I have no earthly idea how to change that, but they won’t just learn empathy when they lose power.

I want out of education for two reasons:
• In the fascist, corrupt, Chesterton-fence-exploding hellworld of 2025, academia is the sinkingest of ships.
• I no longer believe any teacher can make a semester-long information firehose into an experience that does or can incur long-term learning.

I’m just a community college prof, but I’m caught in the middle between refractory students, their Karen parents (who have no power on paper but…), mollifying administrators, captious colleagues, and the fact that my job duties are essentially helping students via gatekeeping and eustress.

Definitely the best way the show can honor the memory of Bob Barker!

It doesn’t come across in a still, but the way characters laugh when something is wrong is exquisitely forced and Verhoeven-esque.

This show is a fun straight-ahead action show for a kid. Then you look closer and it’s intentionally a campy comedy. Then you look even closer and see little gags like that Legs’ inmate number is her measurements or a skull on a clock in an execution chamber. Then you look in HD at the props…
