This is totally correct!
My belief is that Kamala would have won last year if they’d let Tim Walz keep calling Vance and Trump “weird.” But the professional Dem consultant class closed off the one attack that actually resonated with voters.
Endlessly attacking Trump as depraved and support for him as a form of moral failure actually made people stop supporting him. Shame and disgust are very powerful weapons.

Things are falling apart, and that IS tragic. BUT early in their campaign, Harris’s “joy” vibe and Walz’s calling out the MAGAs as “weird” were the perfect pokes at the Right, and whoever told them to back off was profoundly wrong

I sort of knew it would pass—the Repubs are scared of him and his gun-toting minions who show up at midnight shooting dogs and humans. A little part of me was hoping, though

Many American voters are likely to excessively overcorrect from 2024-2025 to look for honest, authentic, effective, consistent communicators who don’t rely on slogans and platitudes in 2026-28. They aren’t plentiful.

There are so many moments when I just can’t believe the independent-leaning South Dakotans I grew up around in the 70s and 80s became the current crop of mean-spirited magas.I have to believe there’s still a core of goodness. Somehow.
