The GOP passed a budget that will eviscerate health care in rural areas. They delayed much of the impact for after the midterms, hoping the public will think any discussion of the impending collapse is hyperbolic.

Local reporters have a chance to do service journalism that'll make a splash too.

I'm officially hiring for a role I’ve needed for a long time... and I’m really excited (and a little nervous, ok... a lot nervous 😅) to put this out there.

I’m looking for a Visibility & Outreach Manager. Someone to help me expand my reach as an autistic advocate, author, and speaker.

Frost: Tonight the people stealing are not folks with tattoos and hoodies but people wearing suits and ties and congressional pins sitting in the capitol now, not in some alley wrapped in darkness but the United States congress wrapped in the flag. It is disgusting and we will never forget this.

Just a reminder that the "Fox News Channel" is just a name— it does not describe an actual news channel. The FNC's own description of its services is here, from its terms of use:

A reminder that every small bit of good you do - whether it be putting art into the world, helping a friend or stranger, donating to a good cause, or just listening to someone who needs to vent - offsets all the evil in the world just a little bit. And sometimes that's just what the world needs.

Last night we rallied to demand Mohsen Mahdawi be freed and today he is released on bail.

I shared his words and they stand true for every person who is or will be targeted by the cruel Trump administration, despite this country's promise of free speech and opportunity for all.

Mohsen Mahdawi's release shows us what we can do when we come together and fight for justice. Mohsen should have never been detained in the first place. We won’t let the Trump Administration continue to kidnap people off our streets. The fight doesn’t end here.

We have a moral responsibility to make sure kids are fed. Hungry kids struggle in school, have health problems, and are more likely to struggle with psychological and behavioral health issues. SNAP benefits are critical to so many families.

Heather Cox Richardson does a great job of highlighting the resistance to date, from attorneys general, to organizing with millions of people showing up for the most vulnerable among us, to Harvard saying no to 45-47's demands for compliance. Take heart and carry on!

This brief summary of yesterday’s letter is really good.

📝 Today’s Letter from an American reminds us: democracy isn’t lost in a grand coup. It’s bartered away in glittering rooms. If we don’t defend it—locally, nationally, globally—it will vanish like smoke through careless fingers.
