A 2020 report found that tire dust contributes 78% of the total mass of microplastics that flows into the ocean. Microplastics are between 15 and 31% of total plastic flow into the ocean. So roughly 11.7% of total ocean plastic flow is from tires, as a low estimate. (Need more studies on this)
Rising microplastics in seas puts pressure on tyre industry
There’s a race going on at the moment. Sailors from across the world are speeding across the planet’s oceans as part of the Ocean Race, a six-month event that takes teams from the warmth of the Mediterranean to the isolated depths of Point Nemo in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, with eight other stops along the route. The competition has made headlines recently, and not only for smashing a world record.

Vietnam's move towards rail is the best solution to its traffic, safety, and pollution issues. It will take time, just like the HCMC metro has been taking, but it will be well worth it when people can cross the street without risking their lives.

This is exactly what a long narrow country like Vietnam needs. Vietnam has faced extreme traffic congestion, pollution, and road safety issues. If nothing is done then these issues will only get worse as the country gets wealthier and more people switch from motorbikes to cars.

There is no safe dosage of alcohol.

Here is a meta-analysis of 222 papers. It shows that even light drinking (1 per day) increases your risk of oropharyngeal cancer by 17%, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma by 30%, and female breast cancer by 5%.

The link between alcohol and cancer is extremely well documented and well researched. Yet it is not discussed because of how ingrained drinking is in our society.

Please read this information from the CDC.
