Vietnam's move towards rail is the best solution to its traffic, safety, and pollution issues. It will take time, just like the HCMC metro has been taking, but it will be well worth it when people can cross the street without risking their lives.

Lines 1, 4, and 6 of the Riyadh Metro are opening November 27th (today in Saudi Arabia). 3 more lines expected to open in December.

The more passenger rail and fewer cars the better, regardless of the country or its politics. Even authoritarian petrostates can make progress.
