Nothing profound to write – just try to point out reality. Hate Brexit – no time for its proponents.

That Labour states things hoping it will happen, is quite true. Reeves keeps on about investment and its benefits, but ONS data shows that it has been relatively flat since 2023 and only marginally greater than 2020. Changing its policy on Brexit would help confidence and increase investment.

Thats weird. Each one of the items below, separated by commas is a column header for data uploaded by Dorset police. No mention of ethnicity or nationality there. 🤔

OOC, I thought I'd also check the ethnicity data for Plymouth Moor View. While over 50s may 'only' constitute ~39% x total constituency population, white ethnicity ≈96%.😬
I hope the candidate's narrative is compelling & the increasing racism doesn't manifest itself. Judging by St George's flags tho'

Apologies for not answering earlier. Thought I'd check the data for my constituency at msoa level, which took longer than I thought. Bottom line is that over 50s make up 39.8%x total constituency… so you may be correct that people could be open to persuasion away from RefUK.

FFS! As usual, incisive stuff on the @nickferrarilbc.bsky.social show.
Some woman dislikes Reeves' voice and thinks she shouldn't keep harking back to what the Tories did/left. I bet she voted for #Brexit… to *go back* to the 1970s or earlier.
Oh… she liked Sunak & Bozo. Yeah… of course she did. 🙄

2/ At the same time, contribution to GDP by Non-EU exports showed an ⬆️ward trend, but decline in exports to UK's largest single market has not been outweighed by exports to Non-EU region, hence the stagnation to which WTO referred in the Guardian article. ONS data strongly supports WTO's assertion, so… no surprises really. When split into EU & Non-EU trade and its contribution to GDP, the impact is clear. Even before UK left EU, contribution to GDP by exports to EU, made a sharper decline than had been the case since the 2008 financial crisis. …1/

It's funny (peculiar, not ha-ha) that it takes an external body to tell people in the UK, something that has been glaringly obvious to those who look at the data produced by ONS.

Oh! Given the concerns of accuracy of representation by the #RacistSarahPochin, I wonder what she would have to say about the make-up of Hamble RefUK group, especially that of the female membership. 🤪

Really? 🤔
It looks like some people rocked up at bls.gov (breaking the shutdown), just to disprove #MangoMussolini.

I know this article is mostly about construction in London, but nationally, data show that the index for public homes exhibits a downward trend since Labour won the GE in July 2024. Meanwhile, other home construction data has flatlined. I wonder why?

A bit more detail behind the CPI data, including some of the 'movers and shakers', pop-pickers!
Yeah, I know… Fluff (Freeman) wouldn't have said 'movers and shakers'.
In the price change of chocolate, there might be a clue to why McVities have diminished the quality of its Penguin and Club biscuits.

The last two paragraphs summarise Labour's problems perfectly. They exemplify the complete lack of courage it has had… it should have told the truth from day one. Acceptance of such truths must always eclipse the lack of acuity, regardless of the pain caused to those less acute.

Why tf is it, a copper who falsified elements of his career history, is charged with fraud/misconduct, yet bloody politicians whose misconduct literally cattle-trucked the UK (due to #Brexit), don't warrant a rebuke by parliamentary/independent conduct watchdogs? 🤬

After finding DWP's data store, to question Zia Yusuf's claim about "lots of EU nationals claiming Universal Credit"; I messed around with other parts of the repositry.
I'd forgotten by *quite* how much Labour had slashed Winter Fuel Payments in 2024, after previous years. 😬

Hmmm. I think Reed may rue saying that, if Labour's record this parliament is anything by which to judge. As other commentators remarked: total housing construction has flatlined, while Public New Housing (& presumably affordable) output has declined each quarter since Labour formed the gov't.

Alistair Bruce (Sky royal correspondent) stated the title being put in desuetude meant that it wouldn't (or couldn't – I can't recall which) be used again. The Express also seemed to be running that line yesterday.

I don't know from where Yusuf sourced the data for his claim. At a top line analysis of
'stat-explore.dwp.gov.uk', the only mentions of 'EU' are of 'Pneumoconiosis'; while once drilled down into the data, the only other mentions of 'EU' refer to Brits claiming State Pension outside UK shores. 🤷♂️

What's changed since 04 August?
Even if the Dem's secured the 4 x vacant seats, the Republicans are still unassailable. Why isn't stuff just being pushed through with the GOP majority? There's no opportunity to negotiate. 🤷♂️
