I hope @camguthrie.bsky.social and others who push to criminalize homelessness in Guelph look outside during storms like this and imagine what it would be like to live in a tent.

Those are the people you’re forcing into dangerous areas away from support services and life saving resources.

Hey folks! Does anyone have leads on somewhere that designs leg prosthetics in Guelph or nearby? We have a community member who is an amputee and *urgently* needs a new prosthetic limb, and I am not sure exactly where to start to help getting her one.

Thanks!

I’m going to need Elon and Trump to either shut up and kiss already, or stop taking up all this unearned attention during pride month. 🌈

They had to reopen applications for Guelph’s Accessibility Advisory Committee.

Only one of the previous members reapplied, the rest of us quit, and the city obviously didn’t get enough new applicants.

It’s almost like if you ignore and lie to disabled people enough, we stop wanting to engage. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So I’m really bad at asking for help, but I’m in a bit of a pickle and could use some help right now. My fridge died, and it took my medication along to the underworld with it. I need some help raising the money to replace it. 🫶🏻 gofund.me/cfda9397

Last night I went downtown to honour the lives we’ve lost to drug poisonings and the people who’ve been abandoned by yesterday’s closure of the Consumption and Treatment Services site. Sincerest Thanks to the staff who kept this site running, preventing countless drug poisoning deaths & overdoses. ❤️‍🩹

Sure baking sourdough bread sounds cool, but have you ever simply stared at hateful, lumpy, white politicians on the tv and tried to make their sad little internal organs explode using willpower and witchcraft?

Both are perfectly acceptable hobbies.

What stage of grief is it when you give yourself side bangs with a kitchen knife at 4am on the day of your friend’s funeral and then clean them up with scissors in a hotel bathroom a couple of days later? Asking for a friend.

Remind your grief that it is love. 💕
Kate’s spirit is with us in every warm meal served, every kind word shared, and every moment of laughter that slips through the sorrow. We love you, Kate. Thank you for showing us what it means to show up with heart. 🫶🏻

I think there’s a misconception that Your Downtown Guelph Friends only feeds unhoused folks, but our meal service is for anyone who wants to eat.

If you’re someone who could use a free meal on Sundays, please come see Your Downtown Guelph Friends outside the GCHC on Wyndham street from 2-3:30

Here’s an article about Your Downtown Guelph Friends and what you can expect from us moving forward. We’re still doing meal service on Sundays, getting food on plates and boots on feet, helping get winter gear and necessities to the people that need them, & we have some upcoming naloxone training. 🫶🏻

Your Downtown Guelph Friends will continue their free meal service outside of the Guelph Community Health Centre on Sundays

If this year has taught me anything so far it’s that you’re never too old to show up at your parents’ house late at night and sit in their kitchen crying while your mom makes you a grilled cheese sandwich.
