Maybe it's the wine talking, but I find this year to be much more watchaeable. My entire family has been watching since the beginning. I have comments on the problemtic parts, but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with the ads and especially the awards. Kudos to the choice award.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the (ha) awards so far. So happy South of Midnight won, here's hoping we get more like it soon.

Also, largely pleased with announcements so far. Hope this pace keeps up!

Black Ops 7 was just off my radar this year when I heard the campaign is just not for single player. $40 within the first month with steelbook? 😬 this plus that blog post, it can't be selling well.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 (PS4/X/X1/PS5), & Steelbook $39.99 via Best Buy. https://ow.ly/qXaL50WIrBq

Just got out of FNAF2 (that's Five Nights at Freddy's 2 for the normies) and it was super fun. The sequel was easier to follow and just an overall stronger film. Kiddo loved it, audience was great, and there was even a Scream Easter egg. See it with a fan, it's well worth it.

Help me understand why the Internet can find unreleased games, re-assemble the pieces, and even translate them while distributing the ROM within underground circles, but if you can't buy a game on a specific platform then all hope is lost. Use search, find game, buy, play.

Watching Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl on blu-ray. Having seen the 4K disc and streaming versions, this is so much better. Reference quality visuals, fantastic bit rates, and booming PCM audio. Definitive version, imo, so happy I invested at initial release. Love this movie.

Me: Physical media is so unnecessary, the data is almost never on the disc, and its a hassle to find room and dig it out to play.

Also Me: HOLY SHIT, LOOK AT THAT RESIDENT EVIL REQUIEM LIMITED EDITION!!!

Okay, its getting late (in my 40s) and I'm a little buzzed. Who fucking CARES that Halo is being remade or that its coming to Playstation?!? If you don't know how to play Halo right now despite owning a Playstation...be more self-sufficient. Also playing Halo is no longer significant, either, sorry.

The current state of tangible media is either: watching an item constantly drop in price that you bought at its highest OR watching an item you are holding to purchase go out of availability on the blink of an eye and end up at 2-3 times the already high initial price.

Kelsey is a gem. This is one of a countless number of examples. We should all strive to follow this example.
Met up with @bro3256.com at PRGE and he asked me to sign the tag on the $1000~ game he bought from us for $11.99.
I love this hobby.

Just got back from the original Friday the 13th in the the theater with the family. Kiddo's first time seeing was on the big screen. It was the 1080p off the 4K scan, which I still find king, and the OG mono soundtrack. Volune was too high, but it didn't ruin the experience. A true horror classic.

Well...I haven't opened it, but I'm pretty sure my Rocky Horror 4K Steelbook is not in this "package." 😅 I have already worked with the retailer and they are refunding my money. The challenge now is getting another one as stock was limited and trying to avoid the big box retailers.

Been talking about this trend for years when it comes to games spending. Why are there premium gamepads, $149 collector's editions, Pro consoles and general rising prices? Because the price-insensitive, affluent players are the ones doing more of the spending as everyone else shifts more to f2p.
things are getting more expensive because only rich people are spending. The top 10% of earners ($250k as a household) make up half of all consumer spending in the US. So, everything is being priced for them while Xbox leaves everyone else behind. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

This is AMAZING! I will be researching how to do this with Gaming History 101 (already on archive.org) for those listeners, including me, that want an RSS for readers.
Podcasting is now twenty years old. And that means shows that ran for years are now just a bunch of URLs that resolve to nothing.

Sometimes, someone uploads a full set of mp3s to archive.org, and that’s great! But you can’t easily listen the same way as your other podcasts.

What if you could?

Ok, I'll admit the secret bunker was a bit too many attempts to be "worth it" although the glut of unlocks (achievements and in-game) along with the satisfaction of completion helped a lot. Glad I did it. 100% complete, including secret last boss.
