Centrist liberal ****. I'll say things you like, and some you don't. Votes🟡🟢, 🇮🇱🇵🇸 2 state solution. 'Let the rate of house building dictate the rate of immigration'

Israel should withdraw to the pre 67 borders, and those countries with a history of persecuting the Jews, should send their finest to manage the security situation in the Palestinian territories. This would be true penance, as opposed to enabling the Palestinian holocaust.

Under FPTP, elections feel like playing 5D chess.

If I vote for this candidate, will I keep that one out? Or will voting for this party let that party in?

It's exhausting.

Under PR, you can vote for the party you support, knowing that your vote will count. Simple - and fair.

Today marks International #DemocracyDay.

Democracy matters - and it cannot be taken for granted.

Our voting system leaves swathes of people feeling powerless and fuels disillusionment, which can have dangerous consequences.

Change can't wait. We need #PRnow.

Winter fuel allowance (UK):

Let the pensioners keep all the benefits, TV licence, bus pass winter fuel allowance etc, but if someone has a private pension that pays over the average median wage, approx 32k, they loose £1 from their state pension for every £1 they get over that.

The UK housing v immigration numbers are screwed:

We can't keep the economy growing without immigration, but we can't afford to build the housing to compensate for population growth either. Thus year on year, we're driven further into a housing crisis. /1

There was a time when I qualified for DLA (disability living allowance [UK]) on mental health grounds, and I had more money than I could spend.

I didn't have a car, pets, go on holiday or socialise, but I could buy whatever I wanted at the supermarket including vintage port and the best steak. 1/

Ukraine; fight to the death or accept the minerals deal? Doesn't have to be a binary question. Whem the fighting stops as the mining starts, the West could continue to help hold the line, whilst, as Ursula Von Der Leyen might put it, Free-Ukraine is made into an "indigestible porcupine"

There are these great words from history, Magna...something that the Americans and British always hark back to. I think they pretty much rule against [habeas... oh] arbitrary/prolonged detention without charge, it's almost as if those words have been reduced to slogans...
Of the 369 Palestinians abducted from Gaza and released by Israel today, 333 were imprisoned without charge—some for over 16 months.

Gaza, what if?

Roughly speaking, President Trump has talked about taking over in Gaza. If the Americans could take over the security situation in Gaza with the agreement of the Gazan populous, perhaps with assistance from the UK as the former colonial power... (1/2)

He who smelt it dealt it!
Every accusation is a confession with these people. Every single one. Wanna know what they're up to? Look what they're accusing Dems of. Historically it's really accurate. Things they accuse are the things they are guilty of themselves. It's so childish and yet it works on their idiot cultists.

If the BBC licence fee ended, I'd be happy to continue paying on a subscription basis; you get a lot for your money.

Nonetheless it is ridiculous that people can be prosecuted for not paying a fee for a service they don't want.

The BBC should be funded through general taxation
Should taxpayers fund the BBC?

The Culture Secretary is exploring plans to scrap the licence fee and instead fund the BBC through general taxation.

Would you be happy with that?

If I was part of the Labour Party instead of accusing Tories of politicising the grooming gangs situation by calling for another enquiry, I’d be all over the news asking why they seem hell bent on delaying implementation of any legislation based on the last report which took seven years to produce.

The UK parliament recently passed a vote on changing to proportional representation 'reform whilst you can...'
BREAKING: Canadian PM Justin Trudeau resigns saying that his one regret is failing to introduce voting reform.

This should be a lesson for Starmer's government.

The majority of the UK agrees that FPTP isn't working. Labour must have the courage to take bold action and back PR.

Feeling gaslit on immigration!?

In about 2009, the BBC made a doc on immigration presented by Gavin Esler.

It concluded that migrant workers were slightly more productive than the home grown alternative. Costs benefits done; but they weren't being entirely straight with us...(1/2?)

Do they cherry-pick from the Bible or not read it at all?

A vote for converting the UK electoral system to PR has passed; this is why the left should hold Labour to it:
Because the majority of British voters have almost always historically voted progressively, but our voting system, first past the post, doesn’t represent voters. Obvious from even the most basic glance at voting trends to anybody that’s not an ambling, dense, rage baiting, right wing shill.

Syria- Ukraine parallels:

The line pushed by Blair and Cameron about how Iraq is what happens if you do intervene and Syria is what happens if you don't, is a false one.

Militarily, Ukraine is Syria(2011) 2.0. Syria was in the Russian sphere of influence... (1/2)
