Listen I know what the song is about, but taking it at face value, the narrative as told by the kid in "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" sounds like the setup for a Stephen King story

A just society will remain out of reach so long as the majority of us continue to treat politics as a sport rather than respecting it as life or death policy making.

Okay, so between the last play and the tush push fake out, I've determined that they're just operating on Looney Tunes rules. 🤣🤣🤣

Hey @nflonfox.bsky.social, could you like stop having your white announcers refer to black players as studs. It's racist as fuck

This is fucking insane!

These corporate ceos are pathetic. Bob Iger needs to get Trump's dick out of his mouth and grow a fucking spine.

This is a really important corrective to a lot of reporting today. Trump did not—and cannot—federalize MPD. The police force remains under the ultimate control of the mayor.
Folks: Stop saying that the Metropolitan Police Dept. is under "federal control." The Home Rule Act allows the president to declare an emergency and make requests of the Mayor for MPD services. Chief of Police Smith continues to report to Mayor Bowser. code.dccouncil.gov/us/dc/counci...

Right now everyone should be listening to season 3 of the REVOLUTIONS podcast by @mikeduncan.bsky.social to see exactly how things went down in France.

If you listen to more than one season though, the patterns with what we're currently experiencing become much clearer

Beyond the obvious political and leadership failures, the most frustrating thing about Cherelle Parker is that she's embarrassing us.

And here it, the funnest election night clip I’ve ever seen: @errollouis.bsky.social asking the reporter at the Cuomo party if the revelers look like they’ve been working. Her answer SENT ME!!! 😅😂

Okay, the schadenfreude in this thread is hilarious. But the islamophobia from the people they're mocking, omfg!

Just to be clear: young people will get out and vote if you give them a candidate to vote for. If you give them the same nasty centrist who doesn’t represent their values, they have no stakes in it and they won’t vote. This isn’t rocket science.

The fact that, even the next day after voters in New York's Jewish enclaves clearly backed Zohran, legacy media is still trying to act like he's a terrifying anti-semite for having the most boilerplate critique against a genocide is infuriating.

Cope!

Surprisingly effective things Zohran Mamdani ran on:
-free buses
-rent freeze
-halal cart for $8 instead of $10
-taxing the 1%
-no cost childcare
-city-owned grocery stores
-a Department Of Community Safety for mental health programs and crisis response
-building affordable housing

Maybe I'm crazy, but for years I've been thinking, that with their giant footprint of surface parking in Jersey, Patco actually has an opportunity to spurn a lot of economic growth, including increased ridership, by converting those lots into garages and mixed use development.

I don't get the hard on Alejandra has about Sarah specifically. I would recommend y'all actually go and listen to the podcast cause that's not what she is saying at all. Every time this comes up, she has very nuanced points, and they just flattened everything for clicks.

Y'know if States and local municipalities would just commit to having circles where it's feasible instead of convoluted infrastructure to accommodate traffic lights, it would improve travel times and reduce backups.

With the New York Times continuing its attack on trans people, I wrote about its failures and how Azeen Ghorayshi has led the charge to weaponize their coverage against the trans community and launder anti-trans talking points into the mainstream.

This is going to be a controversial opinion for some people:

Most of I-95 (as with all highways) should be demolished, buried, and/or capped wherever it cuts through cities.

We had all the money in the world to destroy cities for cars and arguments that we can't remedy that are bs
