Nintendo have been consistently adding to Nintendo Music since the app was first revealed around Halloween last year, slowly expanding the library available from both major releases and those that are a little less well-known. The first firmware update of 2025 for the Switch 1 has just been released, and it's a pretty significant one. Ahead of the Switch 2's launch on June 5, Nintendo have added new features to the HOME Menu for Virtual Game Cards and GameShare, and have also added the option to transfer console data to Nintendo Switch 2 systems. One minor change of note that has also been made is the appearance of Donkey Kong's user icon, which now reflects his appearance in the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza.

Today, The Pokémon Company group announced that Shiny Pokémon will soon debut in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, with the launch of the new themed booster pack, Shining Revelry. Beginning March 27, 2025, players can discover Shiny Pokémon and participate in ranked matches, introducing a new way to battle in the app. The Shining Revelry booster pack will introduce a variety of Shiny Pokémon cards—featuring fan favorites like Charizard ex, Lucario ex, and Pachirisu—which sparkle beautifully when tilted, offering an exciting new way to view the cards in a digital format.

By now, you’re more than likely aware of the Nintendo Music app. The app, which was randomly announced on social media around Halloween of last year, is a new method for fans to be able to listen to various soundtracks that Nintendo has released over the decades.
