• the Kids Online Safety Act - KOSA
• the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act - IODA
• and the SCREEN Act
All three bills claim to protect teens by placing a duty of care on online platforms to prevent exposure to harmful things. But Republicans keep expanding the definition of "harmful." These bills are gifts to fascists.

KOSA's sponsor said it would "protect minors from the transgender in this culture." The Heritage Foundation said it would use KOSA to block abortion information. Both other bills allow the FTC to enforce them. FTC Chair Ferguson signed up "to fight wokeness" and "the trans agenda.'

We have to keep going not just for us, but for queer people that will come after us in the next generation. We want them to be safer than we are, have more freedom than we do, because we have to fight back like hell against this cruel conservative administration that want to see us criminalized.

And they didn't think that this will affect them to if they support LGBTQ+ people. We can't let these bigoted right-wing lawmakers get what they want, and I hate that I have to bring these bills up again but I have to because they will serve as a final nail to the coffin of our internet freedom.

They want anyone who's LGBTQ or anything that challenges their religious views to no longer exist anywhere online or in society, and that is the goal of Project 2025 that seeks to label all queer content as 'harmful to minors'. And what's more frustrating is that the Dems keep helping those bigots.

Censorship bills like KOSA are the reason why I spend more time on my AO3 stories, writing and downloading them while panicking, because I don't know if tommorrow will be my last. These lawmakers who kept pushing these bills wanna harm us and remove us from public life because they don't like us.

Like many of us, I just want to live on the internet peacefully as a queer person making NSFW content and getting along with people who are like me... but I won't be able to do it peacefully as long as the administration we're under is hellbent on taking it away from me.
