Those are some very expensive looking effects and sets, maybe the type of expensive that the new owners of Paramount might not want to continue to pay for going forward.
🚨NEW SNEAK PEEK

Here's our first look at Starfleet Academy outside of trailers, with the first explosive sneak peek scene! The USS Athena is under attack by pirate, the leader of the Vanari Ral - Nus Braka (Paul Giamatti).

Reminder, that new show that hasn't aired it's first season yet didn't get a season 2 renewal because the execs loved what they saw. Sets and post production is too expensive these days for just one season. Those "two" seasons were already greenlit and paid for.

With how immature the writing has been when it comes to all the interpersonal drama on Discovery/Picard/SNW, it'll be interesting to see actual young characters deliver those type of lines, and if it's going to fit, or be 10 times more insufferable.

New rule, if you're making a prequel or sequel set close in time to the source material, it has to be filmed using the same cameras and filming techniques as when the original came out.

RIP Bioware.
It’s official: EA is going private.

The leveraged buyout will be financed by a staggering $20 billion of debt, which likely means some *aggressive* cost cutting is ahead for EA in the coming months and years.

Star Trek: Scouts existence isn't shocking because Treks been nothing but a known IP to mine for years now but imagine making a show for young kids to get into Star Trek with while also having just removed the 40 episode kids show you already made that those young kids might want to also watch.

There was a million other ways for Strange New Worlds "Terrarium" to have the same impact at the end without having the security team arrive during a rescue mission with phasers set to kill. What La'an did should be a reason enough to remove her from duty. Bizarre choice.

We're long past cinemasins being the root cause (if it even was) of poor movie critique. It's the ''idea guy'' mentality, where the ''If I made this movie, I'd do this'' view has rotted the foundation of all reviews.

Plus the engagement farming...

It's hard to take the declaration of ''star trek can't stay stuck in the past'' seriously when Strange New Worlds' holodeck episode uses a regurgitated idea from 30 years ago instead of using the premise to explore modern use of AI and our current relationship with entertainment.

Strange New Worlds S3E10 - Captain Batel has fully transformed into a new Gorn/Human hybrid. In an effort to understand her transformation, Pike fuses his DNA with Kirk. The Enterprise has to navigate through an asteroid belt for some reason. Spock fucks.

Strange New Worlds sure loves "no, they're pure evil, there's no nuance to our one off interaction with this unknown thing. It must be obliterated, the devil is real. God save us all!"

The conclusion of last seasons cliff hanger and the end point to where they position the Gorn in Strange New Worlds Season 3 really highlights how Akiva Goldsman and Co get really excited about an ''idea'' and then just drop it as soon as novelty wears off.

Modern Trek writers sure are incapable of using anything other than trauma when exploring a character.

Akiva Goldsman being excited at the idea of doing a Star Trek Original Series reboot is crazy when the guy is the showrunner of an actual TOS soft reboot currently airing! You literally got the keys to the car you wanted dude! Star Trek needs to move on to new things!

It's such a shame to see Obsidian finally get the time and resources needed to make their games but Xbox choosing to sacrifice them at the alter of 80 dollar games.
