Eh, having lived there, I don't really think Texas secession would be as clean as people think. The countryside and the leadership love to talk about it, but none of the cities would really participate. It'd be a mess. Cascadia (at least the coastline) is more uniform in that sense

Now say there was some psycho that was ruining the credibility of the federal gov to lead the military and all that gets splintered into a bunch of factions, there might be a better case for it. Idk who would come to the aid of a Cascadia though, and all the folks to the east kinda hate their guts

A functional air force is a huge force multiplier. I don't really know if a seceding state would be able to wield theirs to defend against a fleet coming in and just bombing everything useful, and you'd need everyone on board to get things running. Logistically I don't really believe that's possible

I would not expect any favorable secession terms for the states leaving. It meant war in the 1800s, and holding on to your military sure gives you a leg up there. Expect your f35s to be bricked at the minimum.

National forests are probably a tossup and more about who has easier access

Idk if you get to keep all your military hardware if you secede, but I guess it depends on the circumstances

I definitely have a bit of a chip on my shoulder having been laid off along with ~30% of my coworkers just as the pandemic started only to see the big boss take a PPP loan to "retain his employees" the week after
