Someone posted recently on here about how they love the sexism of Bond, with a clear description of how they also hate it, but as art it’s interesting to have this (various levels of) sexist dinosaur as a protagonist, with his worldview shaping the narrative and presentation.

Like all great bodies of work that are worthy of hyperfixation, the franchise is an absolute mess of internal contradictions & bad movies that people paper over with their own personal blinders to see just what works for them (until they don’t & get pissed), but the real fun is in the full picture.

He’s gotta be comfortable in his own shoes, for sure, even if he’s kind of miserable as a person. He’s got to find joy in the zings and flirtations, even if it’s a pretty dull joy.
