My mother, who has sent me no less than half a dozen "I support you 100%" texts in the lead up to my appointment to start pursuing gender affirming care, called me after to say "if you want to transition you have to tell me"

I hate how we have to stuff our lived experiences into boxes because we know we can't express nuance in front of cishet people lest they twist it to their own ends, because then younger/less community involved queer folks start to buy into that simplicity as well and start punishing deviation.
