I'm not a native English speaker, but I have to practice somewhere!

Die My Love (2025)

The only good thing about today is that I took advantage of having the day off and being in the capital to go to the movies and see this film. There were only 9 people in the theater.

I don't know why Victor Frankenstein was shirtless during the reanimation scene, but I have no complaints. Young Kenneth Branagh, with long hair and a beard, could get it 🥵

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994)

I have a terrible memory, I forget everything, but that image of the bride is forever etched in my mind... Also, the moment when the creature told her she was beautiful while caressing her face terrified me and made me want to vomit!

So I want to watch it, to get over a childhood trauma, lol

1947:
1. Joan Crawford - Possessed
2. Susan Hayward - Smash-Up, the Story of a Woman
3. Rosalind Russell - Mourning Becomes Electra
4. Loretta Young - The Farmer's Daughter 🥇
5. Dorothy McGuire - Gentleman's Agreement

Let's just say this is not one of my favorite lineups.

And even if the film had been eligible, and judging by the performances that did receive nominations, I'm not sure Linda would have been nominated. After all, I don't think the Academy could handle that level of ✨cuntiness✨. Their loss.

Jane Wyman:
1. Johnny Belinda (1948) 🥇
2. Magnificent Obsession (1954)
3. The Yearling (1946)
4. The Blue Veil (1951)

I finally was able to watch this video. I've seen the 2 Frankenstein movies that James Whale directed, plus The Old Dark House and The Invisible Man, and I really like those 4 movies. I didn't know much about him or what happened to his career, it's so sad and infuriating. He deserved better.

It's far from a terrible lineup, but I'd improve it by replacing Ingrid Bergman with herself in Casablanca, and Greer Garson with Teresa Wright in Shadow of a Doubt.

1943:
1. Jennifer Jones - The Song of Bernadette 🥇
2. Jean Arthur - The More the Merrier
3. Joan Fontaine - The Constant Nymph
4. Ingrid Bergman - For Whom the Bell Tolls
5. Greer Garson - Madame Curie

I would like to think that if the Best Supporting Actress category had existed during the first Oscars, they would have been nominated.

Janet Gaynor's costars in those films were very handsome.

Today was an evening with Janet Gaynor:
- 7th Heaven (1927)
- Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927)
- Street Angel (1928)

Rosalind Russell:
1. Auntie Mame (1958)
2. Mourning Becomes Electra (1947)
3. My Sister Eileen (1942)
4. Sister Kenny (1946)

His Girl Friday would easily be #1 if she had been nominated for that film.

I know it's Saturday, but I forgot to share my last 4 watched yesterday. It was a rollercoaster of a week! Moreover, I'm officially done with my Best Actress journey, at least until they announce this year's lineup in January.

Tom & Viv (1994)

The only reason I watched this film is because Miranda Richardson was nominated for an Oscar and I'm currently watching all the Best Actress nominees (I'm almost done). I didn't like her performance, nor did I enjoy her character.

Third attempt at watching Tom & Viv. My thoughts so far:
