Phasing out NIH’s HIV clinical guidelines is flat-out immoral and unethical.

These guidelines drive early diagnosis, ART initiation, and viral suppression—82% linked to care within 30 days, 69% virally suppressed by 6 months.

Removing them puts millions of lives at risk.

I just listened to #TheDaily episode on "On COVID's Wake" with Frances Lee & Stephen Macedo where they make a categorical statement that non-pharmaceutical interventions didn't work during the pandemic. The evidence does not support this categorical claim. 1/

UPDATE: Employees began receiving termination letters on Sunday night. Their last day will be April 24.

"To start sending these [letters] out at 10 p.m. on a Sunday night was horrendous," one source told me. "I've been up the whole night refreshing email as I watch my colleagues get terminated."
Trump officials will put 4,700 USAID employees on leave and eliminate 1,600 jobs
The decision comes in the wake of a judge's ruling that such a move will not cause irreparable harm to the employees. There will be exceptions for several hundred employees in roles deemed critical.

I want to talk about HIV and Cocaine.

This morning I stumbled upon a publication linking recent cocaine use in PLWH to increased latent HIV reservoirs. This caught my eye and I was surprised by what the paper suggested and intrigued by its citations.
