Can't stop feeling, perhaps fancifully, that it's also my day! After two decades of reading everything written by her and reading everything else, #Derrida, #Marx, #Coetzee, through her, getting marginalized and ridiculed (even in job interviews) for this passion, and yet believing in her work ...

1/n #Derrida rebuked #Spivak for her critique of his reading of Marx. Derrida called her gesture 'prioprietorial' (a spin on her own statement that perhaps she was 'proprietorial' when it came to Marx). This is a strange violence, when one accuses the other of not confessing enough.
