PhD on Spivak's postcolonial deconstruction (Derrida/Marx). Postdoc: Posthuman Ethics, Animal studies, Literary theory, poco Eco criticism. UniFreiburg, UniAarhus. he/him.
... and yet, believing in her deconstruction even more than Derrida's! I can now say more proudly than ever, I am a #Spivak scholar! This is our achievement! Thank you Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak for being my teacher and guide. This is a day or all those 'curious guardians at the margin'.

The alleged thing happened during her college years without her knowledge of such a one way devotion!
All these rumours are pathetic and continue the age old patriarchal Bengali tradition of not recognising a woman's achievement until she can be romantically attached to a tragic (Bong) man!

[PS2: so what was Derrida responding to? Spivak's review of his #Spectres of Marx ("Ghostwriting").

[PS: Derrida presumably didn't read Spivak's earlier piece on Marx and Derrida (ironically called "Reading Marx after reading Derrida"!) He didn't have to, but he needed to, for this lack of reading shaped this strangely aggressive exchange]

2/n However, it wasn't entirely untrue that Spivak did try to follow Derrida in deconstructing Marx, in a piece she titled 'Reading Marx AFTER reading Derrida'. So who was there first? Spivak? Derrida? Or Spivak's Derrida? And about what was she prioprietorial? Marx or Derrida?
