Old but savvy. Hardcore Dem. Dual professional: law and nursing. Esoteric & eclectic to the extreme. Mother of Dogs. Immigrant, since you can't get your shit together up there. NO FUCKING CHATS. OTO, and IYKYK. Happy beats everything, so yay I win!
Does anybody know what "the medical model" of disability is? I'm too pissed off to go do research right now. All I know is that people are people, with unique problems that need to be addressed in varying contexts. Apparently that is somehow...bad for disabled people?

So Zucker has a new algorithm that flags...I'm not sure. They were gonna down my account in 180 days if I don't let them take facial recognition data. Which I did, with some bug eyes thrown in for shits and giggles. The Powers That Be want a central database with everything but our DNA in it.
WHY???

I am a charitable person, but I only help people and organizations that I have a personal relationship with - a local orphanage, e.g. I would rather give $20 to a homeless person standing right in front of me than to Goodwill, which spends most of its money on administrative costs and CEO salary.

Reminder: BLACKOUT the system Nov 25th thru Dec 2nd.
NO BIG BOX buying. Don't buy media. Don't go to McD's etc. Buy from Local, small business, from a Black lesbian in a wheelchair ideally, but you get the drift. Prove to them that our participation is conditional on their good behavior.

Replacing people with AI means: shittier nonintuitive customer service. Diagnoses made on the basis of only what is presented w/out delving deeper. Crappy entertainment and ads using avatars. Your FB account getting flagged for nothing. A surveilled life to the least detail.
Fuck the tech overlords.

Are we ALL going to BOYCOTT the Big Box Billionaire Businesses from Nov 25th to Dec 3rd???
DO NOT BUY FROM BILLIONAIRES, only shop locally.
Starve the beast. And when the dragon comes to your village, well, you know what to do...those implements of suburban destruction are multifunctional, y'all.

Remember the 100th monkey theory? When 100 monkeys do the same thing, it spreads to every monkey in the environment. Like this 3.5% of people need to protest metric.
Why try to quantify how much it takes to change? Let's just keep pushing for the change we want to see in the world until we see it.

Once upon a time we said "lookism" as a way to refer to the prejudice of judging someone by their appearance - of course women, but men as well.
If you fall in love the right way, like the forever way, you fall in love with a soul. A personality. Don't matter the package, it's the contents.
Yes?

I follow any young woman that follows me. Some may be bots, and I don't care. If a woman has a pic with thick hair, a pretty face - what the hell difference does it make?
Ask: what other currency is available to her? She still has a mind, a soul, and ambitions. I want to know this person.

Cookies. Sounds innocuous; I think TollHouse.
But cookies on the web; I deleted mine recently as part of routine computer hygiene (educate me if you can) and FaceBuK now demands a video, like facial recognition, or it will delete my account...in 180 days. Can I get on my account until then? WLYK.
November 17, 2025 at 1:17 AM
Fucking Zuck Book is requiring FACIAL RECOGNITION or it will delete my account in 180 days.
Anyone else have this pop up on that platform recently????
Gods damned corporate overlords and their insistence on intruding into every tiny aspect of our lives.
Bout damn ready to disconnect. I can text.

A toothy grin is a social signal for mammals. Could be submissive, inviting, nervous, or aggressive. We're too complicated, because depending on context, culture, etc the meaning varies. People may smile or grimace when they get bad news. We're a weird species. And don't point, some find that rude.

Use cash. A dollar spent to your local store for gum gets passed to someone as change. That dollar gets spent on lunch at a local eatery. Then it goes to paying a waiter's bills. Use your card, a fee is extracted that feeds the beast, and the beast don't like you. USE CASH. Cash stays in your hood.

You can't cure stupid, but you can cure ignorance. If you're dealing with someone with inadequate information, you can provide them with facts. Maybe they'll change. If someone is so stupid they can't reason past their next Big Mac, save your time and effort. Pearls, swine, math...

Read a really good article outlining the problem of people who Do Not See Reality and how it is impossible to include them. When someone literally doesn't see the world as it is, in fact, then they are a lost cause. You can't compromise with mentally ill people; all you can do is medicate them.
November 5, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Okay, I've had interactions with stupid people. And I've interacted with mean people. But honey, when you get stupid and mean combined, the shit show is blockbuster level horrible. Stephen King couldn't write something more dystopian than our current reality disconnection. "Alternative facts" FFS.

I am amazed people are focused on the economy as it impacts them personally, but the majority don't seem to give a flip about the blatant corruption and disdain for law. The utter arrogance of this admin is stunning, like Marie Antoinette levels of fugk off and die. Why isn't everyone mad as hell?
November 5, 2025 at 1:55 AM
"The cruelty is the point." Duh, the oppressors of people are /always/ cruel. It's to be expected when humans with enough avarice get control - nothing counts except what get them more $ and power. Don't be surprised; get pissed as all hell, and use that anger to fight. The greedy don't see people.
November 5, 2025 at 1:52 AM
One thing about living outside the USA - you get another perspective. In CR, we aren't insane about politics. People live their lives without ever thinking about 45.5, or anything that doesn't impact their lives directly. Basically, a whole lot of the world doesn't care or thinks y'all are crazy.

We are living in an authoritarian takeover backed by billionaires, now what do we do?
STARVE THE BASTARDS OUT. Don't buy shit from them. I don't care what your kids are demanding this season, talk to them at a level they understand.
Don't support oppression. They need your $ and labor or they die.
November 3, 2025 at 1:36 AM
Greed. The endless need for MORE. I'm sure it's in the DSM somewhere, under hoarding or OCD or something we should classify as pathological. It is not normal to crave total wealth and power. That is anathema to human progress and prosperity. We MUST share to thrive as a whole. Greed is the #1 sin.

I'm a happy widow. I have five dogs, no men to take care of, and while I hate it when someone fails to shit on the pee pad, it takes a minute to clean that up. Fixing your mommy issues and doing your laundry, cooking, etc - not so much. Not a crazy dog lady, but men are more work than mutts.
November 3, 2025 at 1:27 AM
BOYCOTT the big biz boys from Black Friday until after Cyber Monday. Blackout the economy. Remind these billionaires that their wealth depends on OUR spending, watching, ordering, and above all WORKING. Call in sick. If you can't, ok, but BUY NOTHING except what you absolutely need from LOCAL shops.
November 3, 2025 at 1:23 AM
The counter to lies is truth. The counter to disconnection is friendship. The counter to thinking someone looks down on you is to include that person in your social gatherings. We need to get outside our bubbles and be with people who are *gasp not like us. And BTW, BOYCOTT Nov 24 to Dec 2.
November 3, 2025 at 1:21 AM
I'm friends with conservatives. I think they are blind to certain things they haven't directly encountered, but I understand the perspective. If you can talk with people without being hair triggered judgmental about certain topics, you actually will find common ground. The division is manufactured.
