It's /always/ our fault. For being liberal, or brown, or female, or queer. The fact that we exist creates cognitive dissonance in the minds of those who think they have a mandate from God, and all the answers to all questions. So of course it's our fault; we demonstrate an alternative is possible.

I am no coder, but I think it's impossible to code human discernment into an algorithm, no matter how fancy or sophisticated that algorithm is. I can sense a scammer. A computer without a human's intuition can't do that. Guess we have to prove this a few more times before everyone gets it.

I am most infuriated by ICE going to courthouses and snatching people who are complying with the law. Like, the poster children for Doing It Right and they are /still/ getting snatched. Cruel, illegal, and intolerable.

Working families are the base of the social pyramid. If they crumble, everything else does, too. NYC was becoming a rich people's playground, and that is not sustainable.

If it comes from tax dollars, that is the American People's Money. It should be spent on the needs of American People, or be shown to serve the people if spent abroad. This is a simple concept; we give up $ to get stuff that makes life better for us. Otherwise it's stealing, as in, kleptocracy.

One of the biggest reasons to keep religion out of politics is the corrupting influence politics has on religion. Be pure in heart and action, serve your God, but use your brain to think before you vote.

Children. Anyone under 18 is a child. The experience gap, the maturity gap, the physical gap - adults should NEVER have sex with children. Full damn stop. Fifteen might look full grown, but I guarantee s/he is NOT an adult and should NOT be treated like one.

FFS, raise wages and let's have universal Medicare. The payment system is already in place; streamline some of the administrative BS and watch GDP go up when people aren't scraping to pay for insurance and spend on tangible things like food and housing.

I know people who believe 45.5 is ushering in the return of Christ and armageddon. And they /want/ that; they say they need to "save as many souls as possible" before the end, and I'm pretty sure they are willing to torture people into converting. Crazy times.

Amen. The damage to our international reputation will take decades to recover, but we can at least fix some of the problems Americans are facing. Get $ out of politics on day one, then get $ to communities, rural, urban, reservation, and suburbs.
