This cannot possibly be a series of “individual issues”. Clearly, it is a system-wide governmental failure. How can you expect the public to enforce their rights when those who have material power over our lives cannot even wield their legislated power for public safety?

Here's a quick reminder of what Johnson was actually doing during those weeks

Government has today published its consultation into "earned settlement", the forward alone contains a hot mess of misrepresentation of the current system by the Home Secretary. I would strongly urge anyone affected by the current system to respond.

Did Mahmood’s ancestors “earn the privilege” of settling here? Or are we seeing how this logic very quickly will be used against any melanated person?

Oh look! A rep has integrity! Is that something @ukparliament.parliament.uk can say? If so, come forward. Speak loudly. Rep in the public interest.

You work for the people. It’s literally in your Bill of Rights of 1689 and The Claim of Right Act of 1689 for Scots.

Do you really think a Department of Justice that lies to judges about grand jury indictments is going to be open and honest about the Epstein Files?

Almost as if caste has a role in oppressing other (largely) Black and Brown folks; and as if non-melanated folks engage in casteism against other non-melanated folks as well.

Looks like the corruption of equitable justice has come home to roost.

The real purveyors of identitarianism: Parliament.
Mahmood really is a disingenuous nasty piece of work. Look, people don't risk their child's life crossing the channel to boost their own claim. Mahmood's own policies of restricting family reunion does mean more children will be making channel crossings though.

The compounding scandals across the WISE isles point to the same. Across the world, we are at the precipice of a profound decision.

And all it took was for white and non-melanated people to care. Globally.

May those who we have delegated powers to finally understand that we can always take it back

Apologies for vague-posting but:

I really hate it when competent people in political parties get punished for not licking the right arses, when incompetent people get promoted purely because they licked the right arses.

it's a lot of what's wrong with the world IMHO

Anyway, I miss my city and the protection of my neighbours—which Scotland is woefully missing.

Lenape land was the home of the wise ones for a reason, and the land—my city—molded and shaped me to uphold the highest standard of justice in the public interest.

And I will not abandon the public.
Today there was an attempted ICE raid in Bensonhurst & community members showed up. Even though NYPD collaborated with ICE by trying to disburse the crowd; community members stood their ground & ICE left without kidnapping a single person per the rapid response groups I'm on. We protect us!

Tonight, I was reminded that we have to keep repeating Bobby Sanchez’s words:

“Two-spirit individuals, and BIPOC non-binary and trans people are not breaking gender roles or gender norms. We are merely practicing our ancestral memory and our ancient cultural understandings.”

It’s not any better this side of the pond, folks.

Come over anyway, though, because white folks only listen to other white folks. And it’s time ya’ll undo the legacies of your ancestors and their complicity with their overlords.

Sickening rhetoric by Home Secretary. Denying access to human rights isn't "protecting the public". This is Labour further demonising those seeking asylum in language very reminiscent of the far right. Yes, some break the law, so should be prosecuted within the law. Removing rights is not the answer
