If you haven’t read Garrard’s novel, you are missing out. Last summer, I listened to the audiobook twice. That’s right: it ended, and I started it again immediately.
what I am hearing is everyone is going to reskeet [sic?] and share the word about our event with Garrard Conley and Peter Kispert because the graphics I made are so impressive #GraphicDesignIsMyPassion

I think Greta Thunberg is the best example of how there is no way of protesting that will satisfy the scolds. It'll either be called too aggressive or a self-serving publicity stunt.

"it's not peaceful for people to be on the highway" -LA Mayor Karen Bass right now.

This is what I mean when I say the word "peaceful" as applied to protesters is about prescribing placidity, not nonviolence.

Calmly marching on a freeway is pretty inarguably nonviolent. " Peaceful" you can debate

to push w/e is popular instead of trying to popularize justice is to admit you lack moral leadership
EXCLUSIVE: A top Democratic strategist has launched new policy research and messaging hub, called Searchlight, with a goal of pushing the party toward the most effective, broadly popular positions.
Dems are quietly forming a think tank to help them win again
Searchlight, a name inspired by the birthplace of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, comes at a precarious moment for a Democratic Party.

The Poetry Marathon 2025 was THE BEST creative exercise I’ve ever done. 24 poems in 24 hours (or a 1/2 marathon option). ~340 participants globally.

I wrote some things I’m polishing & really proud of, and the hour 21 “write a poem about your favorite vegetable” prompt gave me this silly series.

I’ve been commissioned to write a Western! My dozen+ years obsessing about frontier brothels is paying off. (What irony that it’s a fiction assignment—my least-flexed muscle. Light a candle for me, y’all.*) More details to come, but suffice to say I am EXCITED! Yee-haw 🥂🤠🃏

Walter Cronkite, who was described as the most trusted man in America, once said:

“Freedom of the press is not just important to democracy, it is democracy.”

Paramount: Stand up for a free press and our democracy. Do not capitulate to Trump's dangerous move to authoritarianism.

Charles II lifted the Puritan ban on theatre-going and by 1700 London was sex-capital of Europe. This walk starts at a time when all actresses were assumed to be prostitutes and theatres a place for meeting them. Highlight: Jelly Houses and fops. 30 March. www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/londons-se...
London's Sex Industry and the Stage in the Long 18th Century
When the Puritan Protectorate ended in 1660, London's sex industry grew wildly public and was linked to both theatres and the underworld.
