This is so unbelievably shameful. To put players, staff, and fans through this was absolutely unnecessary and avoidable. Fans had to suffer for 8 hours so the league wouldn’t lose money. But guess what? Money was lost anyway. Sacrificing safety to make a profit is inexcusable. Berman out immediately

LaBonta has a degree in engineering from Stanford. In 2015 the NWSL minimum salary was $6,842. At any point in her soccer career LaBonta could have made substantially more money outside the sport.
She was waived by Sky Blue and eventually found her way to the FC Kansas City practice squad. (1/x)
