Trying to believe the future can be like this experience: shaky and imperfect, but still beautiful and worth seeing

Slept in a Temple of the Dog shirt, woke up out in the woods with the badgers and the wolves.
Slept in an Evanescence shirt, can't wake up.
Slept in an Alanis Morissette shirt, woke up with my hand in my pocket

Found a bit of fur I've been holding on to for almost 15 years. It's heat damaged, but I have the skills to fix it now so I can use it 🖤

I can tell you exactly what I love about art: I love art because it's proof that some human(s) had enough time and energy to sit down and just make things. Painting, crochet, costumes, cakes, clothing, a really fancy sandwich, idgaf what they're making, just that they got a chance to do the thing!

Learning to draw can help you overcome that kind of discomfort. It helped me realize early on in my life that it was no big deal. I can just try again until i get it right. Drawing taught me how to be persistent, because it taught me that frustration is a fragile barrier that can be broken through.

adult beginner artists struggle to overcome, is the frustration barrier. The self-shame of doing something "incorrectly" or "unsuccessfully" just so completely takes them out. We are so adverse to feeling that sort of discomfort, that giving up (or not trying at all) is the "better" option.

Most of us understand that drawing isn't a matter of inherent talent, but aquired skill. I also think a lot about how your success in learning to draw might have to do with how well you handle frustration, and how comfortable you are with making mistakes. The barrier i usually see--

So I guess I'm working on what folks are calling a truesona these days. It feels like my last attempt to have a "self" at this point. Skeptical it'll help, but what do I have to lose? Only hope, at this point.

Remembering the time the sky was so dusty I was able to get a picture of sunspots (yes I checked that day and it was a match so it's not just dirt on the lens)

You can’t tell if someone is disabled just by looking at them.

There’s no such thing as the “genuinely disabled”.

You are not entitled to a person’s entire medical history just so you can decide whether to believe them or not.

People are not faking disability, most are trying to fake being well.

Me at 4am talking myself through "just try what you have, you can always change it if you don't like it" because it'll be fine and I totally don't have to accept the first attempt, I definitely have the skills to do it over if I need to, but I ALWAYS seem to forget that fact for myself :'3

Just dug through some photos from the past year and I don't know if I ever shared this one. It's my favorite beach at sunset 🖤

I think my dogwife took this shot one of the times we went for galaxy or bioluminescence pics, but I don't remember which time (oops bad brain)

Ready for another reference for me, but can't justify art expense. Maybe I'll be able to find time to do it myself, but it's bad mental health hours over here for me lately so I'm not holding my breath over it. Would be nice to have a version of me that's not a source of pain again though.
