Also that the Leader is the hardest working man in the country. He takes little joy because his life is bound in service, but don't pity him because he is stronger than we are and built for this time. When others have given up, or exhausted, he soldiers on for Nation.

they could just ignore the death in the last movie, and run with it being a different actor, and not even address it and NOBODY would care.

Yes. Agreed. Thanks for clarifying. @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com’s main point was that this was not just up to Schumer to keep those Dems 5 who flipped in line.
This from @gregsargent.bsky.social & @brianbeutler.bsky.social is really on point. The best I’ve heard. Hopefully Democrats Listen to us.

Tesla engineer was concerned about known thermal runaway problems in the batteries, elon and his head of security concoted a mass shooter threat pretending to be him, leaked it to the press and got a bolo issued to tried to get him swatted, Elon then stiffed his head of security

He looks bad either way.
He either caved and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory instead of letting the GOP marinate in their own mess, or he wasn't part of this and his own whip undercut him and he doesn't have control of his caucus.

substitute the Broncos in there, and that's this season in a nutshell.
These come-from-behind victories are going to kill me.

My *grandparents* wouldn't let them leave the farm.
My mother's side, the family plot in Kensington, KS is full of graves of children up through the 1930s. My maternal grandmother was the 5th of 9, and 3 of them didn't make it past age 5 and one died in a farming accident at age 14.

because a kid in town caught polio, so my parents wouldn't let the kids leave the farm for a year.
Anyone who wants to go back to those days, especially anyone who romanticizes those days, does not remember them.

As late as the 1950s in some parts of this country, mothers died in childbirth with a regularity we'd call apalling today.
And childhood diseases and the death that accompanied them were off the scale.
Ask anyone who was old enough to remember the 50s. My dad spent his entire 5th grade year at home

It's another symptom of people forgetting just how horrible life was (relatively recently) in many ways.
Children are born to mothers who didn't die and grow to adulthood with regularity because of all these advances, and they think it was always that easy.
