ofc i do think games are an art form. but i also feel that that whole cultural battle was mostly waged by and on behalf of large corporations who wanted to lend cultural prestige to their multi million dollar IPs, and theyve been perfectly happy to stamp out aesthetic risk from their work and others

elon fucking killed a major piece of not only driving game discussion, but also sheer inherent word-of-mouth advertising. it has no doubt kneecapped many small- and mid-sized titles and i can't even tell what big games are popping off right now unless they have a Little Guy people wanna doodle

I think if you argue for video games being more expensive you just don't want poor people to be able to play them. There's no semantics-ing your way out of that. That is the material effect of making games more expensive, no matter what you say.
