Thousands of folks getting doxxed, losing jobs and getting death threats for their knee-jerk reactions to this week’s murder. Regardless of where you stand politically, that is a really bad thing for our country. I understand being hurt and upset, but I don’t understand the urge to destroy anyone.

Check out my piece about Ohio’s new flat income tax (how awful the logic behind it is, how my elected officials stand, and how much it’ll harm this state). Ugh. #flattax #ashtabula #shameful www.whatwecan.net/p/ohios-new-...
Ohio's New Flat Tax: What Does It Mean?
Who benefits, who doesn't, and why?  (And do you agree with those who have been elected to represent you on this issue?)

I am once again appealing to the ruling class to allow us all a four-day workweek. Two days is not enough, ever.

Speaking truth to power is important! And also, maybe also blame the Republicans for trying to dismantle our entire system of government and for trying to systematically harm massive numbers of marginalized folks? Only attacking elected Dems for the current state of affairs feels shortsighted to me.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Watched Predators and Atropia tonight—Sundance is this weekend, and we love the chance to take part without flying to Utah!

Students are not doing okay—neither are educators. Therapists are not doing okay—neither are their clients. I’m honored to be the recipient of so much faith and trust, and also humbled by the massive weight of the world’s collective fear and doubt.

I’m really enjoying Nosferatu, and cannot overstate how nice it is that I have the privilege to be able to afford to stream new releases in my living room instead of having to drag myself to a place that isn’t my house to watch a movie (with my own snacks and no shoes on).

Anybody at all, no matter how abhorrent, how many women they’ve harmed, despite being ludicrously incompetent, can now grow up to be US Secretary of State. What an inspiration to future DEI hires such as himself.

The next few days will be incredibly painful for disabled, LGBTQ+ & marginalized folks

I’m seeing alot of “we survived him once & we will do it again!”

I appreciate the sentiment, but gentle reminder that not everyone survived the first term

It’s ok to be scared & angry. I know I am.

It’s not a great look to brag that you didn’t care about TikTok. There are a lot of people who will now be much more isolated, and a lot of creators who will struggle a lot more. That’s not something to cheer about. Anti-Chinese jingoism is wrong whether it’s bipartisan or not, and this harms folks.

Anybody have a suggestion for a carrying case for my brand-new AirFanta 4Lite? I’d love to have something to lug it down to my classroom more easily/less obtrusively.

the "an average person eats 3 spiders a year” factoid is actually just a statistical error. an average person eats 0 spiders per year. Spiders Georg, who lives in a cave & eats over 10,000 each day, is an outlier and should not have been counted

It’s not ok to vote to remove the rights of entire groups of people for the “economy”.

It’s not ok to vote for hate because you belong to the one group who won’t be impacted by authoritarianism.

It’s not ok to wipe out decades of progress because you feel slighted by those who are “different”.

I woke up at 6:45 so that I could drive to a local TV station for an interview about my program. Totally worth it! It’s such a treat to be in this role. Do dream jobs exist? Yes, they do—because I’m in mine.

Doing an experiment where I turn off pretty much all my phone alerts besides digests at 8am and 6pm. My mind was blown to look at just how many of those things were popping up—an average of around 700 NYT alerts, for example, WEEKLY. That’s wild. Trying to protect my peace of mind. #worthatry
