I think I grew up with enough teenage shows to not look at the thumbnail of Starfleet Academy trailer and immediately hate it.
But there's always something more about the insta hate. "It won't have good writing" "it's that kinda show", I've heard those rhetorics enough to suspect.

Maybe if I wasn't watching TOS as I watch SNW, that opening in the holodeck episode wouldn't feel like mockery.
Maybe if SNW was being better than TOS I wouldn't be upset. But this whole season leaves me upset.

Finished Enterprise so the logical follow up was to go straight into a long awaited rewatch of Discovery followed by Strange New Worlds. Whiplash going from Disco's treading new ground to "here's Balance of Terror again". What they did to the Gorn is worse than what Disco did with Klingons

confirmed: all the best posters on this website are 30 or 40 years old and love ds9
i am always blown away by just how far ahead of its time DS9 was. really some of the most remarkable feats of writing in TV history. and the kind of show that could only have worked with 30+ episode seasons
