I lost 350 lbs, now officially a third of the man I used to be! IT guy, hiker, sunset appreciator.

I heard the flat buzz of 2-stroke engines farting their way down Mulholland and I assumed it was a bunch of kids on dirt bikes doing a street takeover, but no, it was nerds on vintage Vespa scooters, all of them glinting in the sun with their cream enamel paint jobs and tasteful accessories.

Hey @wychstreet.bsky.social I’m at the Hollywood Bowl and your boy Jarvis is making it happen.

The more I think about it, the more I live, I find the true dividing line between good and evil is power. What do you do with it when you have it? Who do you help? Who do you hurt? Nothing else really matters.

Hey LA why do we do this to ourselves every year? It really is awful. The city becomes unlivable the night of the Fourth of July, and the air becomes poisonous the day after.

Pretty special tonight.

Los Angeles Bluesky users, tonight is an excellent chance to see the space station before Elon plunges it into the ocean. Rises in SW at 8:52 PM, and crosses the sky very fast until it sets around 9:01 in NE. Magnitude -3.6, so brighter than anything but Venus and the moon. #science #iss

I think about this story at least once a week. I keep a print copy of it in my files. It hits on so many levels! Also, the archive at LA Weekly doesn't load the brilliant illustration for some reason, so here it is:

You're going to say "Andrew, how can a plane look *French*"? My response:

My apartment manager has left out a U and made a saint-to-be of my building.

Los Angeles folks, there’s an excellent ISS sighting tonight! Look in the northwest at 8:22 pm for a bright (brighter than Jupiter!) fast-moving dot that will transit across the center of the sky and set in the southeast about 7 minutes later. You just saw the International Space Station!

Life’s your oyster when you’re a cute dog in a colorful hat. Literally, what evil could dare befall you.

My favorite place to eat in LA has amazing views, but not everybody wants to deal with the 1100’ elevation gain on the walk from the parking lot. Also the cuisine is limited to what you can carry. Today it’s 3 liters of ice water and chilled watermelon.
