I recently got the wild hair to go look into the state of online services emulation for older consoles and handhelds. It's a pretty mixed bag.. the fear of abetting piracy (and likely anti-cheat considerations too) makes for major long-term concerns about sustainability.

Had a CT scan done last week. I'm waiting on the results, with a high probability of upcoming surgery.. that is, if my medical assistance doesn't get cut from this funding freeze fight.

As noted, I got Sniff to the vet on Friday. The wound appears to have a tumor; I've authorized a biopsy but that brought the total cost up to $1000 from $700. That $700 included antibiotics, ear cleaning, sedation, updated vaccines, and 13 days of Gabapentin doses.

Absolutely this. There is no way Sony won't completely screw things up if they do get the acquisition. It's going to be a total shitshow for consumers and fans.
Sony's handling of Crunchyroll, Funimation, and RightStuf post-acquisition inspires negative confidence in how monumentally they can and will further fuck up the anime, manga, film, book publishing, gaming, etc. industries if they successfully acquire Kadokawa.

So I see that Microsoft just put out generic install images for ARM-based Windows 11. I wonder if the Snapdragon 865 is on the supported list? Might be able to get Windows 11 running on a Retroid Pocket 5. I'm not sure that would be a great experience, but maybe something fun to play around with?
