SoCal Landmarks is an ongoing photography project documenting the myriad sites, buildings, structures, monuments, and other natural and historical points of importance/interest that are considered landmarks in the ten southern counties of California.
Battleship USS Iowa is a retired battleship berthed in San Pedro. It was the only ship of its class to serve in the Atlantic during WW II. Its tours and exhibits focus on telling the story of the Iowa, the LA Waterfront and the Surface Navy. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

The Municipal Ferry Terminal building in San Pedro was one of a pair of terminals completed thru a WPA project in 1941 to facilitate auto ferry service to and from Terminal Island. It has been home to the Los Angeles Maritime Museum since 1979. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

In 2010, construction began on the new $184.9M, 366,673 sq ft San Diego Central Library at 330 Park Boulevard in the downtown area. Opening in 2013, the building replaced the 1954 "modern library" which itself replaced the 1902 Carnegie Library. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

Fox West Coast Theatres bought the Alexander Theatre in Glendale in 1940 and renamed it the Alex Theatre. S. Charles Lee was hired to create a new exterior look that added the current marquis and 100' tower topped with the star-like sphere. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

Hale House was built in 1887 in northeast Los Angeles. The design of the Queen Anne style Victorian mansion is generally accredited to Joseph Cather Newsom.
