SoCal Landmarks is an ongoing photography project documenting the myriad sites, buildings, structures, monuments, and other natural and historical points of importance/interest that are considered landmarks in the ten southern counties of California.
Hale House was built in 1887 in northeast Los Angeles. The design of the Queen Anne style Victorian mansion is generally accredited to Joseph Cather Newsom. In 1937, Long Beach Maternity Hospital hired Francis H. Gentry to design a new facility in the Bixby Knolls area. The hospital announced its new location and name, Bixby Knolls Maternity Hospital, in its holiday greetings in the Long Beach Sun. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

Pacific Electric Red Car No 1734, built in 1925 and rescued from reefing in the 1970s, sits empty on tracks to nowhere in Seal Beach.
