SoCal Landmarks is an ongoing photography project documenting the myriad sites, buildings, structures, monuments, and other natural and historical points of importance/interest that are considered landmarks in the ten southern counties of California.
In July 1934, a dozen farmers and merchants began selling fresh produce from the back of their trucks at the corner of 3rd and Fairfax in Los Angeles. By October, the new market's popularity led its founders to stage the first Fall Festival. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

The Neo-Gothic style Hollywood Professional Building was the 5-story Rehbein Building when it opened in 1925. The name changed to the Hollywood Professional Building in 1926. Toberman & Co. added 3 stories during their acquisition in 1929-30. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

San Diego Master Architect J.B. Stannard built this Stick-Eastlake style home for John Sherman in 1887. It was purchased by Auguste E. Gilbert in 1897. It was the first structure moved to Heritage County Park in 1971. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

Built in 1893, the First Baptist Church of Orange is the only remaining Victorian church in Old Towne Orange. It was used as a church until 1992. It was sold and repurposed as PJ's Abbey restaurant in 1994. Marcus Avila bought it in 2011. #SoCalLandmarks at bit.ly/38ZDuPC #socal #photography

Cabot's Old Indian Pueblo Museum in Desert Hot Springs was built by Cabot Abram Yerxa starting in 1939. Villa Rockledge, originally known as Mariona, was built in Laguna Beach as a summer home by Frank Miller, developer of the Mission Inn in Riverside.
