I had some thoughts about people saying that "debate me bro" trolling is somehow the height of democratic discourse.

Among the attempts to create hagiographic eulogies of Charlie Kirk, I’ve seen more than a few people suggest that Kirk should be respected for being willing to talk to “those who disagree with him” as a sign that he was engaging in good faith. Perhaps the perfect example of this is Ezra Klein’s silly eulogy claiming that Kirk was “

The next Democratic president should declare that the National Emergencies Act and Article II of the Constitution allow him to:

•admit D.C. and Puerto Rico as states
•abolish ICE
•grant citizenship to any immigrant
•disband the 5th Circuit
•expand the Supreme Court

Seriously: Why the hell not?

Everything I've seen about Democrats' version of Project 2029 is far too modest and weak-kneed. Democrats need to look at the precedents Trump is setting (and shattering) and figure out how a progressive can maximally wield the power that this administration is concentrating in the executive branch.

The New York Times uses the word “maximalist” because it’s afraid to use the word “dictatorship.”

This, a thousand times.
Dear news media,
You keep making the same mistake, which is presenting the claims of the Trump regime as if you think there's a good chance they're true. Instead, present them as the claims of people who have lied to us thousands of times.
You can do better if you choose to.
Sincerely,

@kairyssdal.bsky.social has been setting an example for broadcasters (public and private) and mainstream reporters in his strict "let's the cut the BS" insistence on truth.

All other broadcasters and (especially) headline writers: Follow his lead.

AND THEN THE FUCKING BRITISH SHOWED UP.
