NOAA workers under attack, again.

This is demented stuff, to do this to people.

As said before— whatever new wildland fire agency the GOP cobbles together out of the remains of the Forest Service… they’ll need NOAA forecasters to do their jobs.

Wildland firefighting does not happen without NOAA.
NOAA just fired us, again 🤡

Great reporting from Palm Springs Desert Sun on Friday’s “emergency determination” and implications for California’s National Forests.

It’s discouraging to hear the logging industry say “Federal forests have been mismanaged for decades.”

We manage for multiple uses— not just *industry* uses.

Really difficult to convey the amount of trees blown down regionally.

Here’s a pic I stole from the National Forests in North Carolina, though.

Multiply that times… a lot to get what firefighters are facing on the ground in the Carolinas.

How do you even move people in that, let alone equipment?

Facts.

The value of applied science.

Trump personally appeared in Western North Carolina to pledge aid.

Then promptly slashed the agencies and workers best positioned to help the region.

If anything, a surge of new workers was (and continues to be) needed.

No, Mr. President, you cannot illegally arrest and detain legal US residents because of their political views or opinions.

In America, we have a little something called the First Amendment.

Throwing protesters in jail is yet another step on the path to authoritarianism.
