From (approximate) quest completion dates in Lodestone, we started in 5.5 but didn't finish MSQ until late 5.58. I can't remember what we did between then and EW, unlocking raids and levelling probably.

For me the answer is no for both. I also disable phone number discoverability.
But if you contact lots of people over SMS/RCS/iMessage and want to switch those to Signal, the answer may be different for you.

• Do you want to message arbitrary people in your contacts over Signal instead of SMS?
• Do you want to participate in the "bootstrap the social graph with your phone contacts" thing?
