I hate waking up in the morning. I'm sure I'm not the only one. There is this lingering sleepiness and brain fog when you wake up. That's apparently called Sleep Inertia, and there are a bunch of possible reasons why one experiences it. 🧪

In 1972, a cat commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These kittens promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune @thatwriterguy@mastodon.social

This is what the band of the Milky Way would look like at night if your eyes could see radio waves. A hidden beauty.

It's a new image created by the Murchison Widefield Array, which scanned the sky in 20 radio "colors" over frequencies from 72 to 231 megahertz. 🧪🔭

NEW: Judge Immergut - a trump appointee - has called an emergency hearing tonight because the administration appears to have tried to circumvent her order by calling in the California guard after she blocked the Oregon guard deployment with a temporary restraining order yesterday. 1/

Pre 80s, you got a local paper (cheap); it had all your news. There was ABC, CBS, NBC over-the-air for national evening news. 80s-2010s: You paid for cable, you got all the news programs of OTA + cable news.

Then we cut the cord. Now everything is behind paywalls. Nobody knows shit, except memes.

“It's a tragic day for our nation,” Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said. “I want to be very clear that this is a political assassination.”
How does Gov. Cox determine it to be a political assassination without the gunman, or a motive? Assassination is usually used in terms of members of governments.

Half a billion years ago, oceans didn’t breathe steadily,
they lurched between oxygen-rich and suffocating for over 100M years.

New research shows deep time holds a warning: once oxygen is lost,
it takes ages to return.

Our seas don’t have that time. 🌊

I was just informed the new wonder compound is Chlorine di-oxide. I responded,”Horsepaste!” Adherent claimed never sick, nor was anyone around him.. Well, yeah, ingesting chlorine compounds might do the “no one around me” part. Yes, I know NaCl, and KCl (to start with) are stable and non poisonous.
